Bonus Art: Sniper and Healslut / Patcher's Patch Talk

Just wanted to see Ghost and Patcher together. There were some gaps in my mental images for them I wanted to see take shape. Not taking it out of the monthly art, just something for funsies. And a mini teaser story I thought I'd throw up too.

An empty CG chair sat in an empty white room. A pretty blonde head poked in from off camera, carefully walking in with the clacking of her rocket-powered high heels tapping the floor. Patcher wiggled her wide hips into the chair, crossed her legs, and smiled at the camera.

“Hey there, players! It’s Patcher here, your favorite healslut! We’ve been doing a lot of work behind the scenes here in Merc Squad, but we wanted to take the time to thank you all for pitching in and helping us reach our millionth player! OMG I cannot believe we got this popular! Thank you all soooo much! It’s your love and attention for me, Ghost, Gladiator and the rest of the gang that we’ve gotten this far. Oh and like… shooting lots of dudes! Keep trying, rookies! Everyone’s a newb at some point, so I’m sure you’ll get it someday! I believe in you! Teehee!

“So um… please stick around! We’re only gonna add more stuff and make things even, like, more cooler than before! They’re always adding more costumes, maps and taunts, plus I heard a few of them are actually giving us different loadouts! You know, like... moves and weapons and stuff. I know I’ve been messing around with some of them in the bedroom. Ghost is taking me out to this sushi place down on the Little Tokyo arena map later, and… oops! Gosh! The ad! Right!

“Well I was looking through the log notes and we’ve got some new characters on the way! I’m not super sure who Psych and Night Shift are yet, but they seem to get along pretty good with each other and they’re signing on with Merc Squad pretty soon! I always like making new friends! The organization got a lot of work done on something called Project Shieldmaiden, and they’re tracking down some secret agent that almost nobody seems to know about… except her family? That’s weird. Anyway, it looks like the after-parties are gonna get a little crowded! Also… I’m not sure how much of that I was supposed to tell you so… sorry if that was TMI!

“As for events and junk, we’re wrapping up the Wild West map soon. But I know they’re planning on more events in the future! I think something sci fi or even fantasy would be cute! Wouldn’t I make a pretty princess or one of those elf chicks? Oh, and Christmas is a long ways away, but I’m sure we’ll still be around by the time the devs figure out what to do with that! Maybe you’ll catch Patcher kissing Santa Claus~! They also keep talking about something called ‘team symmetry.' I don't know what they mean by that but it sounds like a good way for the team to start making friends! Maybe even hooking up so Ghost and me can finally go on some double dates.

“So yea! Thank you soooo much. I really appreciate all the fanart, and retweets, all the weird, like… 3d video things of me. My boobs aren't really that big, are they...? But just letting you know you're appreciated! I can't wait to see everyone pick this apart in the forums so I can see what you're all thinking and what you'd like to see! The programmers at Inferno Studios have been really good to us here at Merc Wars and we want you to feel good for following us! So like... comment or twit or... uh, facebook us or something? I dunno. Support us and spread the word and I promise I'll keep trying super hard for you guys! And gals. That comment swings both ways. I mean... well I guess robots aren't always boys or girls...

"Know what? I just love you all. How bout that? Mmmmmwa! See you next time!"

Patcher trotted out quickly but daintily on her rocket heels, leaving a pink lipstick mark on the camera as the ads and links start to load on the video.
