A Crappy Update (but a cute cat pic)

Hey y'all, Manager Chey here with a long, only kinda art-related post.


TLDR: We're delayed because of immigration issues.

As you guys might now, Ototobo is comprised of three people: Marco, the owner and artist, and all of the talent. Chey is the manager and social media human, and her wife, who does a lot of the behind the scenes stuff helping us with conventions, organizing, and order packing.

Wife lives in Canada. Normally, Wife comes across the border with no problems to visit once a week or so. This weekend, Wife tried to come across as normal, and for the first time in 10 years, was held and detained at the border.

She was threatened that her immigration would be withheld, that she wouldn't be able to cross again... a lot of really, really scary stuff. We've spent the weekend decompressing: Any posts besides this one, were scheduled last week in advance of this happening.

Artist Marco does his very best, but he's one person- he can only do so much in a day. He is doing is very best to get January art finished ASAP, but he is a little behind right now and we are super sorry for the delays.

Manager Chey is working on redoing our website, trying to get a new Etsy started, and getting some new socials rolling full steam ahead.

Sadly, without Wife's help, we're going to be delayed on things. We're hoping her immigration is able to be pushed through sooner, rather than later. We're hoping for the best, but tonight was a very tear-filled day saying our goodbyes to her, knowing it's going to be a bit until she can return to the US.

Many of y'all actually see her at shows we do: She does most, if not all, of our conventions with us, since her and Manager Chey are the yappers of our group- Artist Marco much prefers to be behind the screen. Without her, we're reaching out to people in our lives to help get our current convention schedule filled, as well as making sure we're able to give our all to YOU all- Patreon is how we do what we do, and we couldn't continue this without your support.

Anyway, this is a super long-winded, sad post, but we wanted to be honest with you all that we will be doing our very best with this unexpected challenge, and we're going to be missing one third of our team for the foreseeable future.

The cats already miss her, almost as much as I do :(
