An artful day before the storm

Psychic Spychick had our first band practice of the season this week, deep digging for good tones and rewriting structures and solos and doing good creative play toward making some songs we feel good about recording in a few months. I was describing hammer-ons and pull-offs, and getting the timing just so on slides, and Sara said "it's like your fingers are the hammers inside of the piano," and that is just, kind of a neat and apt way of describing the instrument, at least what the fretting hand is doing. I've been thinking about what while I practice.
I spent the day there today practicing scales and using the ol' metronome, and finally got to cleaning up and digitizing some graphics for the MEGAZINE. I got these two where I like them. More to come.
There is supposed to be a storm tonight. It's warming up, and the rain should be starting in the early hours of the morning. It's sweet how people just know when these events are imminent, and check in on everybody to make sure they have enough groceries and water and a good hunker-down plan. It's been a couple of days now of good community prep. I finished clearing off my porch today to prepare it for a for heavy rain, and snow, and ice. I have lentils, and tea, and more yarn than I could possibly want or need.
