Progress Info On WooHoo Wellness pt3 + Bonus

I just wanted to keep you updated on my progress, so, here goes.
1. The "Maury Mod" part: Paternity Tests and The Like
Edit oct 13: this part is in testing, an issue slowed it down but now its smooth sailing again.
Note: as we go on, when I refer to 'Non-Exclusive Relationships', I refer to relationships from my mods No Strings Attached and Open Love Life, which are integrated in the reactions happening in WooHoo Wellness.
The part of the mod that deals with paternity testing and reactions to out-of-exclusive-relationship pregnancies is Almost Done.
It should be ready next week. Here is what it does:
- If a Sim WooHoo’d with only one other recently, and is now pregnant:
They do not doubt who the father is. They can, if they want, lie to the father to tell them they’re not actually the father; I don't know why they would but it's out there.
Fathers can doubt about whom fathered the child and express those doubts. They can request a paternity test.
- If a Sim WooHoo’d several Sims who can impregnate recently, and is now pregnant:
They will doubt who is the father, they can’t know for sure!
- They can “Admit to Not Knowing Who is The Father”, which is also a confession to having cheated of course – if cheating applies (ie if not in a non-exclusive relationship).
(No Real Relationship, or Friend With Benefits - sorry for the typo on this one)
(Exclusive Official Relationship - married or SO)
(Non-Exclusive Official Relationship - ie polyamory)
- They can go to a Psychic (fitting in Sim universe, here I'm picking universe over realism) to figure out who is the father by themselves. After that, they can lie or tell the truth to Sims they woohoo’d with recently.
- Partners in exclusive relationships do not like being told they're not the dad, of course. Different relationship configurations give different results; a fling of a night will be happy to hear they're not the dad.
- They can tell another Sim that they are the father (which may be a lie or not...)
- They can go get a paternity test with any of the Sims woohoo's with recently who can impregnate. Partners can request to have a paternity test. This will reveal the truth.
Moodlets from the paternity test and some other interactions (most notably, being told that they are / are not / may not be the father) depend on whether the test is positive or negative, and on whether the relationship is: Non-Exclusive Official with a partner who wants children, Non-Exclusive official with a partner who does not want children, Non-Official, or Exclusive Official.
When a partner is told they're the father: If it is an unofficial relationship, the pregnant Sim may ask to get married because of the pregnancy (roping them into marriage basically...). The one told they're the father may decide to break up but that's none of my mod's business haha. An official partner told they're the dad will be glad to hear it I'm sure.
A Sim learning they're not the father in an official exclusive relationship will have jealousy triggered, so if you use cheating mods that base off of that such as my Contextual Social Interactions module (and I hope Zero's newly improved cheating mod works that way too) then you get to 'benefit' from that as well.
In addition to that are brand new angry interactions of course.
So, what happens by the next pregnancy? What if that one is from the official partner?
The system is in place until the next pregnancy. The next pregnancy resets it, to the exception of truth found out about not being the father and such. These facts remain.
What happen the children, will they know of this later in life, can it have an effect?
I am on my way to trying to have all this impact the kid as well, as in parents being able to tell the child and whatnot. But this will not be there right away as it would be another big piece!
Same with the rest of the family. It will have to come later.
2. The 'Go Meet Children to Adopt Instead of Mail Ordering Them' part
I described my plan for this in the preview post from a while ago. Read that other one if you want to know more. I have a start on that part, but it needs a ton of work still.
I have been blueprinting it through making the same thing for pets (which I also announced in the WooHoo Wellness pt3 info post). 
The pet part is almost finished; it is simpler than the kid part by very far, but shares some basic systems with it which helped me lay down more precisely the system I want.
Depicted above is out dear Adoption Agent and the prospective adopter, which doesn't look like he'll be approved considering how that lady is glaring at him.
Sims will meet Adoption Officials and need to build credibility and relationship with them. They will also meet the children. If there's a good vibe overall, the adoption can go on.
3. The Rest of WooHoo Wellness part 3
I haven't really had a chance to touch any of the rest of the planned features for pt 3 yet. As I said before, I first had to do and finish Open Love Life since as you could notice reading above, impacts possible moodlets in this WooHoo Wellness pt3. Since that was done, the paternity test system took me longer to fully get right than I thought it would. But now it's on its way to be done so everything will clear up.
4. Bonus - The pet adoption mini mod: Paws N' Claws Pet Meet & Greet
It's not even remotely part of WooHoo Wellness but since I just mentioned it since I used it as a testing mod for my adoption systems, I'll show you a little more.
(Chosen pet is totally going to be that cat jumping on the counter in the background... Heck no, just kidding).
Basically your Sim gets to meet and play with al the dogs and cats and then can adopt as many as the household space will allow :)
You don't see the menu with pet faces until you ask to adopt. Your Sims can also just have the dogs and cats and their handler be around until they leave, no requirement to adopt.
I wasn't super happy with the dogs that the shelter brought in this time as they got into fighting and making messes very quickly, but Samson was a good boi and my Sim adopted him.
(It's pleasant for once to test something cute and not make my Sims get unwanted pregnancies, out of marriage babies, WooHoo Transmissible Diseases and all that! My testing household has suffered too much and deserves nice things... Except I didn't save after getting them a dog. Cruel.)

To Finish - A QUESTION - (we've had a lot of answers already)
Do you want me to release the paternity stuff etc:
- Along with some little planned improvements to pt1 & 2 (better menus for preferences, fertility surgeries, merging of files further, etc), as soon as it's done and well tested, possibly (probably!) next week?
- Or for me to release said little tweaks and paternity test thing much later with basically everything that pt 3 is supposed to be
EDIT: A majority wants it as soon as possible, so I will do that. Keep in mind that if you'd rather wait, you won't have to download it, what you have now is fine to keep

I wrote in the mod description that adding death was planned for whenever I finish the mod. Likely won't be due to not taking meds but more like, from getting sick with something else and having complications :)

While testing the Open Love and No Strings Attached mods, my sim accidentally got pregnant not from her current husband but from the friend-with-benefits. I can only imagine the level of drama they could have with this new mod! All of these (major!) little additions make the Sims 4 way more interesting to play and far less dull when you try having a big family with many generations. Lumpinou, you are literally reviving my love for this game! Thank you so much for this <3

2020-10-04 15:08:56 +0000 UTCSome things I would love to see eventually: surrogates, randomized infertility, IVF with a donor, custody where kids spend certain days on certain households, and a way to put a child up for adoption but keep it in your family tree as well as the adoptee family tree so maybe you decide to have an open adoption and still interact with the child. Oh and have adopted children show as adopted son or adopted daughter in the family tree!
