At the moment all Jinwoo can tell is when a shadow gets a defeated/disappears, he can't communicate with them through telepathy or anything like that. Not a spoiler this skill develops as Jinwoo gets stronger (because pretty much everything does for him) but they hinted it at the demon's castle when groups of soldiers were being destroyed and he had to go check out what was happening to the squads. He placed 5 shadows into S ranks at the training facility, of those he notices Goto's shadow extinguished and realizes something is wrong. He did not realize what was happening to the Korea squad right away because none of them died (byung-gyu didn't have a shadow) and the broadcast was 10 minutes behind. Timing wise Goto's head being lobbed matches up with the broadcast cutting out. This all being said -- the loophole in the logic is a shadow could have just came out from the korea S ranks when they were getting destroyed and had the ant king kill it, which would have notified Jinwoo earlier.

2025-03-22 21:42:23 +0000 UTCim not sure if its just a cope but i guess the shadows he had in their shadows were just like infantry soldiers - so their "communication" is bad + Jinwoo assumed that since they were S rank they could handle themselves
