When the mother is dancing right before meeting Aira, she jumps and you hear a thud. That was her jumping off a roof, which is shown in the manga. Also, whatever happened to the daughter, it is implied they went to that "kinder world" together. Aira saved them by giving her peace. Rip acrobatic silky. You deserved more. And we see a central theme in this series starting. The trauma of the yokai. Just like the local spirit being girls who were killed and abused in that tunnel, whom turbo granny tried to comfort. It all comes together.
