Re:ZERO Season 3 Episode 7 Reaction

Apologies for the late post, was dealing with some things after I finished editing the YouTube cut. But here it is! This one is a long one lol and probably one of my favorite episodes of this entire show

Went away for a bit due to family, but now I'm back! Glad I was not the only one who teared up on first watch. That speech was amazing. My interpretation of the title is "The Newest of Heroes" is obviously Subaru and the "Most Ancient of Heroes" is Reinhard as he is from a long family line of heroes. But once again, Re:Zero is so cryptic that you could be right though. I kind of like what Al says in his little speech. The only thing Al doesn't understand is that Subaru gets return by death. When he talks about heroic delusions, my interpretation is that he is saying if he makes this speech he isn't allowed to lose. Like this speech is to make Subaru the hope of the people. Meaning if he loses, everyone loses. I love how it then flashes through all then times he has been basically sacrificed for someone he cares about and how that person he saved thanked him. So first scene, he dies for someone, then next its the person thanking him. So the scene with Satella and him stabbing himself is where he chooses to die in order to keep fighting (which sounds weird to type out), and in the end Betty is the one most thankful for him to keep fighting. Another curious thing is that it was one death and one thank you from each arc. So it seems a core theme in Re:Zero is for Subaru to sacrifice himself in order to save someone. However we were taught last season that he needs to value his life so I am so curious what this arcs two scenes would be. Also for the speech, I think it's cool that Garf, Anastasia and Julius were there, along with Al that acts as a counterbalance to be a bit of a realist. They basically surrounded him with someone with overwhelming charisma and fame in Anastasia, someone with overwhelming courtesy and "knightly ways" in Julius, and someone with overwhelming courage and strength in Garf. Yet even surrounded by these people, Subaru is still the best option as he is basically "human" or just relatable. Also the insert song is sung by Emilia's VA Rie Takahashi. I got nothing to say about the speech just. Peak cinema. Will go straight onto the last episode with you now.
