2025-08-28 02:21:58 +0000 UTCI absolutely loved your reaction, Coby, mainly because you have similar sensibilities to me. Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2 are easily my favourite MCU movies. I was born in 1962 and even though I was more of a punk and new wave fan back then (and Bowie!), I love the nostalgia of the 70s soundtrack. In more recent years, though, the first film has gained greater significance for me, after my Dad died in 2019 and my Mum during the pandemic, leaving me to cope with a recent diagnosis of Parkinson's without any family barring an unsympathetic, autistic sister. There's something about that longing Quill feels for his lost mother in those mix tapes that leaves me in tears every time.

I was worried she was going to watch Guardians 3 next, so it's good to know she's being guided. I'm looking forward to all of the movies you have planned for her. Coby, Gunn said Groot died in the first movie as McShades posted here. It's sad, but he clarified that Groot really did make a sacrifice. Baby Groot is basically a propogated branchling and it explains why he is acting like a child who doesn't understand anything. Howard the Duck is a funny easter egg because he was a Marvel comic that George Lucas infamously made into a movie that was an historic flop. Also, del Toro had a dog in a spacesuit - the Soviets used to send up dogs into space before they sent up humans. A comic was made by Marvel based on this called Cosmo the Spacedog.
