To answer some of your questions, the reason why Kylo Ren doesn’t have Darth before his name is because he isn’t Sith because a redeemed Anakin threw the Emperor down a reactor shaft, thus destroying the Sith. There is a new actor in the Chewie suit, however the original actor Peter Mayhew was on set to help out with the mannerisms. The reason why Kylo Ren’s saber has a cross guard look is because the saber crystal is cracked and it lets off excessive heat and it is based on an ancient Jedi saber design. The idea to kill off Han Solo was actually something that Harrison Ford pitched to George Lucas during the production of Empire Strikes Back and he pushed for it but George Lucas decided not to. Harrison Ford made it a part of the deal to get him to reprise his role.

So went into the prequels with an open mind unlike some fans. I enjoyed them, they weren't perfect, but neither were the og movies. I like ep 3 the most. With the sequels the SW fans annihilated them just like with the prequels. I can't take the opinions of those supposedly hardcore fans seriously. I enjoyed the sequels too. Sure, like the rest it has some flaws and as a trilogy they would be behind the others, but that doesn't mean they're trash and can't be enjoyed. So I'm glad you went in with an open mind too, which means you can just enjoy them for what they are and make up your own mind. Even though this movie felt like copy of the first (ep4) with a death star thingie destroyed by a single pilot to boot, I did enjoy the characters and there were some good actors in it. It looks good and brought back some familiar faces for the feels. And yes, Ford would only come back if they killed his character. Looking forward to the next one.
