The Dangers In My Heart Season 2 Episode 2 Reaction

Comments

Yamada wanted to say her dad is like ichi btw. I mean they look exactly alike. If you scale ichi up by 300% in blender.

Understandable, have a nice day.

This studio really just knows exactly what they're going for and have such a good understanding of the source material, and somehow just know how to improve upon it as well every time

Yeah I feel like as tough as she is, hearing comments about that over and over would have to wear her down eventually. And it seems that it really all just hit a melting point and completely boiled over

Swear I didn't mean to copy your comment XD, you definitely put it into better words than I did. I feel like we might shift focus a little bit and REALLY lean into Yamada as a person and learn more about her on a deeper level

Yeah I caught that after the fact, I was too busy fixated on her mom's missing skirts lol

He did explain himself though about how he was afraid of being hurt during the hug. You see his lips moving.

Excellent reaction to an amazing episode, so crazy good! I especially like how we get more of Yamada's feelings and insecurities here. Yeah that scene with the hotpot hit really hard for sure. I'm not sure I've ever gone from laughing out loud from the whole going commando bit plus the dog "attacking" him lol to tearing up from the emotion of what Yamada was saying. All this was done so well with the character animation and facial expressions to the voice acting and music to really sell the whole scene and give it such a big impact. I think it also helps get us even more invested in their growing relationship from getting her feelings out there.

Yamada called herself "Anna" when she was talking to her mom, that's somthing kids do in japan. Ichikawa is lucky that "Yamada" is a common name otherwise her dad might have just grabbed him right there

I also think it's important to think of the fact that Yamada doesn't only think she'll be a burden because of these more specific situations, but also just because of her general airheaded personality. I imagine if it keeps being pointed out to you how clumsy you are and what weird and strange things you're constantly doing, you're gonna inevitably internalize it to some degree. All these more specific situations are just ones where it's made very apparent to her, in particular in relation to Ichikawa, that she could be causing problems for the people she loves by being the way she is. So I think it goes beyond just lacking certain skills, from how I would interpret it, she has an issue with who she is as a person in that sense. Of course that's just what she thinks, and the people that care about her would never think of her as a burden, but that's what she needs to work through still

I think the main strength of this season even this Early. Yamada's Depth as a character. We were mostly focused on Ichikawa's development in the first season which was great and how Yamada was a catalyst for all of that. In season 2 we are seeing the results of his development but also learning that Yamada is a not just a plot device for Ichi, she is a surprisingly deep character that bottles everything up and now they both are learning about themselves through their relationship.

Ral Zarek

Yeah, she kept calling herself "Anna". (Not Yamada obviously because that's her surname.) It's considered pretty childish to refer to yourself by first name but it is something that many kids do, so I imagine she just never grew out of using it when she's with her family.
