Sasha and I went to the Tarlabaşı Community Center where they work with children who are orphaned.

According to goooverseas.com, the center conducts educational, psychological, and social support activities to the people who come there. They’ve been doing it since 2006.

So, the skeptic might say, we helped two little girls paint some pictures. So what?

I shall answer with an anecdote:

A scientist woke up after a terrible store to learn that an uncountable number of starfish had been washed onto and stranded on the beach. He hurried down to see for himself.

Indeed, as far as he could see either way along the beach there were starfish stranded. The rising sun and falling tide would be their demise; a certain death.

Then, the scientist saw a little boy walking along the shore picking up starfish one-by-one and throwing them back into the surf. The scientist thought it was futile; he approached the little boy.

“Don’t you see how many starfish have washed ashore? You realized you won’t make a difference, right?”

The little boy picked up another starfish and threw it back into the surf, then looked at the scientist. “I made a difference for that one.”

Anyway… we did it. And I am very pleased that we did!

We’re going to grab some dinner and explore some more. Of course, I’ll check in later and say goodnight!
