Laylana could only watch as Natasha disappeared up the dark path. She could only stay hidden and listen as what seemed to be at least four people moved off after Natasha through the trees up the hill.
Laylana waited until only the sounds of the forest could be heard once more, then waited a few more minutes. She looked through the canopy of the trees and took note of the growing grayness on the horizon to the east.
