Zeroing a Red Dot with Your Irons
Added 2021-03-10 00:22:05 +0000 UTCHello Tier II and Tier III,
I hope all of you are well!
Here is a quick and dirty gopro video showing how to use your zeroed iron sights as a reference when zeroing a red dot optic. This is extremely useful when you have to change optics, re-zero optics, service optics, trade optics etc. Having this ability is one more big positive about having backup iron sights.
The studio is coming along and we'll be posting some progress pictures soon. We filmed the Rate My Rifle Patreon segment today and will be publishing those starting this week. Excited to turn up the volume this year.
Thank you for all the support. Patreon makes the Vigilance Elite and the Shawn Ryan Show possible. Ya'll are awesome!
Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below.
Cheers.

2021-03-12 16:19:35 +0000 UTCmy goodness! I've never seen the dial go round and round like that on an Eotech, but gotta hand it to COL Tim ... "think we're in there."

2021-03-12 15:05:04 +0000 UTCWhy can't you zero your Eotech, and then adjust your irons to the red dot? or can you?

2021-03-11 18:20:58 +0000 UTCDepends on your mount. I think this one was an absolute. In this one we were using the dialed in irons to get a good reference for zeroing the dot. Gotta love it when that works out.

2021-03-11 18:20:36 +0000 UTCThis was the shooter's, brand new first time taking it out (and first time shooting a rifle). I think there is a VE influence though 🤔!

2021-03-11 18:19:25 +0000 UTCI'm really digging those irons dude! What make are those? They look pretty solid.

2021-03-11 16:30:12 +0000 UTCIf you have time, take a look at this company. They've had optics in combat and the products sound good. I'm interested in their Prism sight "Blade.". https://youtu.be/fXCfpkjtYjQ

2021-03-11 15:16:21 +0000 UTCThank you for posting this video Shawn! Going to pick up an EOtech soon here. I have been doing lots of research as I am a noob. I think what you’re doing is an absolute co-witness right with a dim reticle? Or is it a lower thirds co-witness?

2021-03-11 00:16:57 +0000 UTCWas that Sean's gun or the shooters? They are nearly identical. Have you ever tried using an offset red dot?

2021-03-10 16:30:21 +0000 UTCJon has been saying good things about the holosun stuff. Eotech is proven for me so that is my preference. I think you'll like it.

2021-03-10 10:16:33 +0000 UTCI like holosun but then I haven’t tried any other holographic sight. Going to get an eotech though.
