Drawback of Shotguns For Home Defense
Added 2021-02-03 04:46:55 +0000 UTCHello Tier II and Tier III,
In this video I cover one scenario why I don't recommend the shotgun as a primary home defense weapon. I do my best to cover the pluses and minuses.
At the end of the day, knowing your weapon and its limitations is extremely important. You need to be trained on it and absolutely need to know your zero.
However, I will say I had a pretty good time shooting the side by side.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers!

2021-02-09 06:03:43 +0000 UTCGreat demo! Throw in darkness with the hostage screaming and flailing around, the dog is barking like crazy and the shooters stress level is off the charts. With all that going on it would take a ton of reps to get anything close to your results.

2021-02-07 00:36:45 +0000 UTCSlugs can be fun sometimes but for the amount of rounds downrange to get quality training in, I think most people won't shoot as much. A case of slugs is usually 250 rounds and a case of 9mm is 1,000. Good to keep in mind for time spent training on each platform as well. 👊🏻

2021-02-06 04:58:39 +0000 UTCThe dude with free shit from [flashlight company] is probably banging mad gun bunnies tho!(Disclaimer: I do not support this degeneracy and being a married dude with 7 kids is better than banging 1000 strippers that do gun shoots.)

2021-02-06 02:42:09 +0000 UTCI'll extra validate this on the slug point. I've shot a lot of .50, mostly with M2s, and also slugs from 12 ga. fudd guns. Every .50 BMG gun the US Army has kicks less than my 12 ga. with a slug. I can handle it, a lot of shooters can handle it, but your wife isn't going to like it.

2021-02-04 05:19:14 +0000 UTCWell, you know, sometimes the kids have to take one for the team! I’d love to see a test with an AR loaded with a soft point hunting round. Curious how that would perform.

2021-02-03 21:00:59 +0000 UTCThis would be a great video for youtube to help the 2A community explain to non gun people that ARs are needed and a shotgun is less than ideal. Throw a catchy title on it and watch the impressions pile up.
