I’m mad late but even on the non-lifestyle black influencer side of social media what you are saying is sooo true. I mainly follow dark skin black beauty influencers because what am I going to do with a beige soft glam tutorial, but most of the natural hair influencers I follow, Naptural, Isimeme, all have very long, voluminous natural hair. Something that is aspirational. It works in reverse too because I think dark skin black girls with short hair see that landscape and done feel like they can enter because they know you can be twa down and light skin, and gain a natural hair following, but let you be dark skin with shoulder length hair and they might feel no one wants to see it.
