That was a real cow being killed on screen, a water buffalo technically, that wasn't special effects, they're really cutting a real water buffalo apart on screen. The movie was filmed in the Philippines and a local tribe was sacrificing a water buffalo, and the director Coppola was like, "Oh I got to film this and add it to the movie." Also I'd recommend "We Were Soldiers" as another good Vietnam movie. It's a Mel Gibson film.

2024-05-01 03:21:38 +0000 UTCI think it's a great movie. But I think Platoon (1986), directed by Oliver Stone and starring Charlie Sheen, is a better Vietnam War movie. I also believe that it helps that Oliver Stone is a Vietnam vet, and the cast was great.
