The scene with Lip and the Professor was so sad because although the teacher was a drunk, he was a decent father figure to Lip unlike Frank. The academic opportunities, the life advice, his job title, the therapy talking sessions between the two. Then all of a sudden it ends and becomes a professional, nonchalant relationship. And we all know how Lip gets with the people he really cares about when they stop fcking with him!
