it's not that valentino THINKS he owns angel, he actually DOES own angel. they explain it in the episode, but valentino actually owns angel's soul. that's why angel can't leave his job, and why valentino can do whatever he wants to him. they also explain in the episode that husk sold his soul to alastor, so that's one of the reasons husk and angel relate to each other (because they both sold their souls to psychopathic overlords). anyways, i'm really glad you guys are enjoying this show! this episode was definitely a heavy one, but an important one all the same.
