Last thought, strategically this is a great thing for the west. Russia is taking a ton of losses, Europe is rearming, and we get to beat up Russia without risking much. Lots of countries don't want to be Russia's enemy with sanctions, but being friendly with them now has risks. Plus, Armenia is discovering right now and I'd bet Syria and Libya will soon discover that Russian security guarantees are only good as long as Putin isn't busy tripping over his own dick in an old school imperial vanity project.

Good ep but some of the Ukraine takes mostly by Bog and Fredo...
Def a pysop on Ukraine would fall in 96 hours, but I think it's what Putin + friends believed too, that or they massively fucked up.
I think the dissident left and dissident right (not unique in this) have a tendency to view everything through the same lens and apply domestic political stuff to conflicts that don't have much to do with it--or generally hope/assume the lib goons are wrong about everything. I think you guys are kind of doing that with Ukraine. Like regarding Ukrainian nationalism: I think you guys are still thinking 2014. They've had 8 years of actively trying to build a national identity. On top of that, getting invaded can do a lot to solidify a national identity. 2014: no identity, military mostly runs away. 2022: they're dying in large numbers willingly. Even if you were pro-Russia, Russians dropping artillery shells on your neighborhood can change a lot of minds.
I also agree about the multi-polar world being a good thing: if there's one good thing about Russia's invasion it's that Europe is motivated to have a polar that is friendly but separate from the US. But careful what you wish for with an anti-west axis having success b/c China will be the leader of that axis and as much as our consumer system sucks, I prefer it to China.
