Great pod! Only got a couple things to clear up in regards to what Gordy baby said about the NDP; so in 2011, after Stephen Harper’s conservatives were in power under a minority government, an election was called, Jack Layton was the leader of the NDP & his crowning achievement was leading the NDP to their first ever 2nd place victory, become Her Majesty’s royal Opposition. The Liberals were reduced to 3rd party status. Layton won with a MASSIVE protest vote by Quebec, where they basically swept most of the seats in the province. And Harper’s conservatives won their Majority government which they lost to Trudeau in 2015. Mulcair won the NDP leadership after Layton’s death because he was a long-standing Quebec Liberal Party member of provincial legislature & was a French Canadian. His motive was to bring the NDP to the centre as a means to be a viable governing party, hold their seat gains in Quebec, and beat out the conservatives... Well along came Trudeau, who immediately outflanked the NDP *to the left* with big money handouts & marijuana legalization.. he snuck in through the middle by the skin of his teeth, winning a large majority of seats with less than 37% of the popular vote. Okay I’m done lol hope you’re all well🤟🏻
