Dark Souls 3 DLC ► The Story of Ariandel

Hey all!

How are you all finding the DLC?

In the interests of time, this video leaves out the most speculatory parts of the story, and it's going to be fun diving into that in the next few videos.

I think this DLC could provide about 6-8 videos, we'll see.

Personally, I think that guy we meet at the every beginning who tell us to find a "sweetly rotting bed to lie upon" looks like the embryonic stage of one of the Deep Accursed that we see in the Cathedral of the Deep and Anor Londo. Hairy, long spidery limbs, huge mouth. And the way he says to find a "sweetly rotting bed" got me thinking. The description for Deep Protection says "the Deep was originally a peaceful and sacred place, but became the final rest for many abhorrent things.". Priscilla in Ariamis says "this land is peaceful, its inhabitants kind". The white-haired woman envisions a world while painting that is a "cold, dark, and very gentle place". The painted worlds were obviously once sanctuaries, but became rotten, the resting place for abominations. I think the painted worlds and the Deep (which is akin to the Abyss, and that may partially explain the black flame form of Friede) could be linked in some way. Maybe a stretch, but it's something to think about.

Finally finished the DLC, so I came back to watch. Really interesting stuff. It's like the painting is a miniature version of the Dark Souls world.
