The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers - Extended Edition - Full Length Reaction!

the magical property of the elvish rope is that it unties itself when you're done using it so you can take it with you. Sam says "that's not coming free in a hurry, it's one of my knots!" and then with just a light tug Frodo unravels the knot. hence his exclamation of "real elvish rope!" i love that little detail

I am going to paste here a comment I made on another reactor's channel for LOTR. Please watch the first portion of the end credits of Return of the King. Aside from a great song the early portion of these end credits features great artwork worth reacting to. Also please watch The Hobbit later. Yes opinions are divided but I personally love them and have grown fonder of them over the years. Most of the criticisms are actually true but the movies are still solid despite that. I am currently listening to an audiobook about the making of the LOTR and the Hobbit, here are some interesting tidbits I have come across so far: Tolkien didn't want the title of book 3 to be Return of the King as he correctly felt it was a spoiler, his choice was War of the Ring but the publisher or editor overrode him. New Line Cinema took a major risk making all three movies at the same time, if the first had failed the studio would have probably folded. And these weren't just your average movies as each one was an epic. Christopher Lee, who played Saruman, had actually met Tolkien in a pub years earlier. While the casting in LOTR ended up being perfect it almost wasn't: The studio's first choice for Gandalf was Sean Connery and they made him a staggering offer including a percentage of the gross or profit of the trilogy. If he had taken the role he would have made over 400 million dollars but didn't because he didn't "understand" it. Even getting Ian Mckellen as Gandalf almost never happened as he was locked into a contract playing Magneto in the first X-Men movie. Only the promise by that director that he would be available by early 2000 allowed him to get the role. Viggo Mortensen was not the first choice for Aragorn, another actor was hired but only days before his first scene was to be filmed it was agreed that he was not right for the role. A frantic search ensued to recast the role with little time to spare. Russell Crowe was considered but he declined because he had just finished Gladiator and didn't want to do another sword movie. Viggo took to the role like no other, wearing his costume all the time, even sleeping in it and his horse riding skills were the best as he even kept his horse.

I third this sentiment: However much you loved this film, Camilla, you'll love the finale even more!

Of all the times I've watched reactions to these movies I don't think I have ever seen someome actually connect the dead marshes to the battle in the prologue. I wouldn't expect anyone to make the connection, but I was pleasantly surprised. Assuming, of course, that's what you were referring too.

Great reaction. You seemed invested. I like that. "No parent should have to bury their child." Not a good idea to let Grima go. Grima fed info to Saruman. They should have jailed or killed Grima. After Grima left, he fed info to Saruman that accelerated and facilitated the attack on Helm's Deep. Faramir was awesome. Éowyn is awesome and beautiful. You liked that connection that Aragorn and Brego have. That is cool. Showing pity to Gollum should be secondary. The mission to save Middle Earth is by far more important. They should do to Gollum what most advances the mission. The scenes of Aragorn remembering past conversations he had with Elrond or Arwen were mere flashbacks, not present communication such as in a dream. As for the idea that Arwen might give up her immortality, I know that Aragorn is a prized catch and a great person, and that Aragorn and Arwen have a special true love, but Arwen giving up immortality is too much. Not a popular or romantic opinion. The Helm’s Deep battle is iconic. “Then, I shall die as one of them.” “… there is always hope.” “reckless hate” Watched this movie in the theater back in 2002 at a midnight showing. The scene(s) with the tree-like creatures Ents attacking Isengard was incredible in theater. Stood out to me. Something I always remembered.

Return of the King is my favorite of the 3

I can't wait for the next one! Believe it or not the best has yet to come. Only three movies have ever won eleven awards at the Oscars: Ben-Hur (1959), Titanic (1997), and LOTR: Return of the King (2003). Bernard Hill, who passed this year, just happened to be in two of those, playing the Captain of the RMS Titanic and Theoden, King of Rohan.
