And you probably got your answer in the next episode or two but Date was taking the punch head on but turning his neck and head away to take away from the impact and power of Ippo’s punch. Sorta to get in his head like I eat your punches like they’re nothing and keep going if I can take away your power I can take away your will kind of effect
