2022-11-29 23:44:32 +0000 UTCI've always thought Yakushi won the Jingu tournament and the winner has a ticket to Spring Koshien. But after googling it seems they are just invited to Koshien as that seems to be how Spring Koshien works

2022-11-29 16:45:36 +0000 UTCThe reason why yakushi is there is because they received an extra bid that is given to either a Kanto regional or Tokyo regional team every Spring Koshien. Thats the reason why the spring koshien is called invitational, that don't happen in the summer koshien.

2022-11-29 16:09:15 +0000 UTCIn the manga, there was a page dedicated to the opening ceremony of Spring invitational and iirc, it was explained why Yakushi was there. Sadly, it was skipped in the anime and even in the OVA (Too bad we didn't get to see the cute Raichi and Eijun interaction animated haha </3 ) Having Yakushi here in the invitational did raise a lot of brows tho. haha I understand their sentiment. I mean, that Finals game against Yakushi was a close one and then we see them here, competing in Koshien, too. But then again, even if say, we lost during that Tokyo Fall tourney finals, it's no guarantee that Seido will be invited, too. Anyway, I AGREE! BEST OPENING! INDEED.

2022-11-29 15:44:56 +0000 UTCThey did not explain how Yakushi made it to Nationals. Basically, for Fall Koshein they just invite one team that they think played the best that didn't qualify already. Also, having Raichi and starting to gain popularity because of that made it so the tournament invited them without winning the finals. This is the only tournament where this happens.
