New Poll - And an update on the future of SmutCube
Added 2019-08-05 18:14:25 +0000 UTCThere's a new poll up on SmutCube.com right now to determine what gets added in V0.11.
It's been a while since I've held a poll so I'll just give a brief explanation:
1. Go To: https://smutcube.com/VotingHome.php
2. Select the Unity Applet or the Web Page based voting (I recommend the web page as it's faster).
3. Place your vote for the category you want, you can vote for multiple categories if you can't decide on one (or if you just don't want the third option).
Votes are weighted with your Patreon Tier, new patrons can see what their weight is on the right. Patrons who were grandfathered into the old tier scale in February will have their weight based on the old system.
Finally, an update on how the Patreon is doing in preparation to me going full time:
First the bad news:After doing some budgeting, meal planning, and cutting back where I can, I've determined what my pre tax income would need to be. According to my projections from May I would have hit that number around December of this year (maybe November) but those projections were based on the prior 6 months of an average growth of around $200/month. My average growth since June has been $50/month, which is still awesome but not enough to reach a livable income for me this year.
Now the good news: since I am working full time and doing this part time I have been able to save up enough money for a robust safety net. So, barring any major event like the Patreon dropping drastically, or being banned, or a serious medical/legal problem, etc:
I'll be starting full time development on January 1st 2020
With the more conservative projection of $50/month (especially since I'll be working at least twice as much) I would reach a livable income around Februay 2021. Before that point my savings will be more than adequate to make up the difference, but they will be finite. If my savings start to run out I'll have to go back to being a part time developer, but that shouldn't be before 2021 (again, barring unforeseen circumstances).
