Jonii Progress Update - 03/11/23

Hey, everyone! In that last poll, the option that got the most votes was "Regular progress updates" so I think I'm gonna try giving you guys an update on th echannel every Saturday or so.

I always have a ton of videos in production or on the backburner so I'll give details on a few and be a little more hush-hush on others.

The main priority right now is the Super Monkey Ball Touch & Roll video. The audio is recorded and I have about seven and a half minutes complete. The final video will likely be around 25 minutes. I'll include a small preview of the audio with this post.

Another video I'm working on solo is Puyo Puyo Tsu, which is in the scripting phase and currently has around 15 minutes of content. It's going a bit slow at the moment because most of what I need to talk about is the many different ports of the game and, unlike the first video, I am going to try to get some level of hands-on experience with as many of them as I can this time. Don't expect too deep an analysis of everything, like I won't be spending 10 minutes discussing the Windows 95 version, but I will be trying to give my honest impressions on them if possible. It's also a little tricky because the core gameplay is much the same so I really do have to focus on stuff like ports and characters, as well as miniscule additions. Fortunately, Puyo Puyo Tsu largely defines the identity of the franchise to this day, so it is not a boring game by any means, but we'll see what that ends up meaning for future Puyo content.

Those two videos are solo projects, but I do also have a long mystery video in the works with my cowriter Ethan. It's in the scripting phase right now but all I'll say about it is that it IS technically about a "video game" but not in the traditional sense. We also have another long project on hold and I have a long solo project on hold as well. You probably won't be seeing those for a while. This year, to keep the channel a bit more active, my plan is to pace out short videos and long videos a bit more. The next video will likely be Touch & Roll but I'm hoping to put out a longer one after that. Stay tuned!
