So this was the first Kdrama I knew of to have an openly transgender person, and I radically love the show for not only portraying that, but having an open and needed conversation about it. Saddly, it's a conversation that needed to be had, but it's really cool that Korea had this immensly popular show do that. Kind of sad it took a Netflix sponsored show to get it done. There's still so little LBTQ representation in Korean media and it's not always so positive. I really love this show for having a character like Hyun-yi. Also, yes, the actor is pretty obviously female, but it was far more obviously that they were so be portraying a male by the gendered words they spoke with. like referring to others as 'hyung" which is only used for males to call males. But the subtitles can't as acurratly convey that
