Glad you enjoyed the match! Growing up Mickie James was one of my favorites on the whole roster! Also I submitted this before I went and watched the LFG episode where the “incident” occurred with Mickie and Zena….i won’t lie it was a big shock to me and is completely antithetical to everything I know about Mickie and how I’ve heard her speak over the years so my only guess is that, just like the BJ Ray and Cutler James situation where one of them walked out, they told Mickie to say something controversial for entertainment value and to cause drama. If that isn’t the case it’s kinda disappointing but I really don’t think Mickie would just say something so hypocritical and weird about another woman unless there was some other factor at play. I believe that Mickie would go on to vacate the knockouts championship a little over 2 months later due to injury but she also held it in 2021-2022 and shocked the world when she competed in the 2022 women’s royal rumble. She walked out to her TNA theme which she sings, “hardcore country.” The hardcore country character had never been given a run in WWE which is really a shame bc it’s her second best gimmick after her debut gimmick when she feuded with Trish Stratus. Mickie walked to the ring with the knockouts world championship around her waist receiving a huge pop, this was the first instance of the Forbidden Door for WWE in the modern era.
