I was wondering what happened to this when it wasn’t uploaded at 1:30am ACST lol. This would end up being Takers final match and while it would have been great for him to have in front of fans, he absolutely deserved it after all, doing it this way meant it was actually good and a fitting way to end his career instead of a botch, boring, plodding match. After The Streak was broken he had two really good matches with Lesnar in 2015 and a bunch of matches that ranged from average (Bray at WM 31) to boring (Shane at WM 32 and Roman at WM 33), to embarrassing (DX vs Brothers of Destruction at Crown Jewel 2018) to straight up dangerous (Goldberg at Super Show-Down 2019). As a Taker fan it was so hard watching him struggle so much and embarrass himself, like dropping Roman when trying to do the flip back reversal for the Tombstone. Some people say the Firefly Funhouse was leagues better than this and was for the big brains while this was for the simpletons which is absolutely not true. This match is a fun little ride to go on. Simple and straight forward can still be great. It also gave us that meme of Taker appearing behind AJ. The Metallica song used for Takers entrance to the Boneyard was Now That We’re Dead. Takers arm going through the hearse window was unplanned. This was the last appearance for Anderson and Gallows in their first run together. Mania 36 was filmed on March 25th and 26th and aired on April 4th and 5th and they were released on April 15th.

I'm sure there is more im missing from several companies but it'll be interesting for me in a few years to go back and watch the pandemic stuff. It was certainly weird but I feel there was for sure some positives that people dont talk about because of how weird it was.

2025-06-26 21:12:34 +0000 UTCThe three good things that came out of pandemic wrestling were the Bloodline, the Firefly Funhouse match and the Undertaker getting to go out in a match where he actually felt like the Undertaker. The Last Ride documentary (which I might begin submitting soon) was meant to be just a collection of footage from the Undertaker’s last years in WWE. What it became was a depressing look at an old wrestler who kept hurting himself in terrible match after terrible match, desperate for the one he could retire on and constantly disappointing himself, resetting the cycle. So this match was very much a good thing for Taker and his fans.
