I agree. It's always good to see the misogynist get his comeuppance, but it's never good to go for cheap heat especially in today's age when this type of cheap heat might actually negatively affect the type of business you're doing. As someone who grew up during the ruthless aggression era, I remember this stuff happening all the time in the 2000s, but I do believe that wrestling usually evolves with times from the cartoonish 80s to the rebel 90s and the realist 00s, wrestling has always evolved.

The final twist wouldn’t have worked nearly as well if Jarrett didn’t have heat. However, the fact that much of the crowd was cheering for Jeff suggests the angle wasn’t landing as intended. 🫣

This was her first big singles feud, her first title win, and the first time ever a woman won a WWE title in a men’s division. It’s not a banger, but it’s a nice little piece of history. And I always enjoy seeing the bad guy get a well-deserved ass-kicking.
