The whole idea of a heavily-produced, highly-kayfabed wrestling show with telenovela storytelling was just so incredibly unique. And you can see its shadow looming over the pandemic-era of WWE, with their highly-edited, extremely gimmicked, pre-taped matches like the Firefly Fun House and the Boneyard matches at Mania. I don't know if there's a single promotion that was more influential to the entertainment side of the sport since the Monday Night War ended.

2025-03-03 05:47:34 +0000 UTCLucha Underground was a very different wrestling show they did seasons like regular tv shows, it was owned by AAA one of the two major mexican promotions and produced by Robert Rodriguez the movie director. each episode was about 45 minutes and they didnt do any PLEs there big shows were cut into to episodes this was the entire episode season 3 episode 13 and this show was a big breakout for alot of people there are alot of wrestlers in the show that would know just under different gimmicks. I'd very much love if this took the place of the monday night wars after that series is finished or and episode every other week with other documentaries mixed in.

It was such a great product and it saved my love for wrestling at that time. Because of the focus on stories and cinematics, I would never know which single match or segment I should submit as a Tally Tier submission.
