My first experience with the BJ guy was that he and one of the NXT women (don't remember which one) did a social media angle where he replied to her picture saying she's ugly, and then she posted screenshots of him trying to slide into her DM's. It worked me at first, thought it was a fan. π Or at least I assume it was an angle, because it was so well done that nothing about it gave it away beyond the logic of "he'd get in trouble if he acted like this for real".

Mannn, I get that it's done to put a relevant title on him, and the show is aimed at casuals as well as hardcore fans, but it's crazy to see Terry Taylor as just "performance center coach". Dude is a veterain who was a great wrestler for many years in the 80's/90's. He imfamously got stuck with a dumb af gimmick "The Red Rooster" as a rib. He's been a great educater for young wrestlers in the past 15+ years though

I believe that some of them who have been in the PC longer had matches on NXT Level Up (the NXT B-show) when it was still a thing.

2025-02-24 21:08:50 +0000 UTCI do think that they played up the BJ/Bubba stuff in editing knowing that he'd be on Bubba's team. They still probably would have shown the handshake moment regardless, but not followed up as much.

2025-02-24 21:07:18 +0000 UTCI knew BJ was on Bubba's team. On the pre-show for rubble, Bubba came out to hype lfg and another panelist ask him about having BJ on his team. I don't doubt we will see most of the 16 on NXT at somepoint.

2025-02-24 20:22:52 +0000 UTCI donβt think BJ is working us. These shows intentionally search for the worst people so that they can have at least one βbad guyβ. And people like him absolutely exist. Also, I believe The Miz actually came in second on his season of Tough Enough and heβs still going strong today. So donβt be surprised if multiple people from this show get signed.

I think what made tough enough compelling was they would send someone home at the end of every week, with these guys they're not gonna wanna send them home lol. The fact that they're on the show means that they're standouts and they all already have a developmental contract. So I'm not so sure about the stakes of "winning" or "losing".
