Super important stuff. My mom's life was destroyed by online conspiracy theories and scams a decade ago. I'm sat through "Heaven's Gate, Hell's Flames" which is a celebrated, Evangelical child abuse play. I've seen countless articles about COVID ripping through churches who were convinced that the "Armor of God" would protect them - and then they become super-spreaders. On and on. Irrational beliefs NEED to be criticized because there is substantial net harm. Thank you so much and I hope you continue.

Just sat down and watched this one finally. I do love your basic anime and entertainment recommendations (you are absolutely to blame for my obsession with Berserk) but then you do videos like these that are a solid reminder that you're also just a genuine good guy with a good head on his shoulders. The stuff you're talking about in this video is so harmful, it's affected some of my family, and it's good to see someone with a lot of reach using that reach to talk in depth about the dangers of it all - and to use actual content warnings as well so that we can watch when we feel able to, which is such a simple thing that so many content creators just don't do. So big thanks for all you do. Hope you're having a good rest!

My grandmother, who was the closest thing to a parent I had, went to her grave believing Sylvia Browne was a bona fide psychic with a secret angel BFF (this is real - Browne claimed its name was 'Francine'). Even though I have no evidence that that belief hurt my grandma, knowing that even one minute of my grandma's limited life was spent buying into these hucksters' lies makes me sad I appreciate you digging into this topic. I really liked this as a spiritual sequel to your fake martial arts video (maybe an unofficial trilogy with your look at Devotion). My own parents bought into the hype around John Edwards and Sylvia Browne, so it was nice seeing them get cut down to size. Excellent work.

Apparently, Houdini went around doing something similar. At least from what little I know about that. Lots of people out there offering snake oil or quick fixes for "how to save the world" and it's getting extremely dangerous because there are so many desperate people out there who just want to be okay again. Especially now. Hence the rise of QAnon and whatnot. Thank you for speaking up about this. I imagine since you're making this, people are just as easily affected by this in Ireland as they are here in The States where it's alarmingly widespread.
