Final Fantasy 15 was a Mediocre Disappointment

A new video just went live on the channel!

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9g

So first off, just want to say thank you for actually waiting for this video, it’s been a month since the last upload, and I hope the reason for that becomes obvious once you check this one out.

This is the longest video I’ve ever made, at 52 minutes it’s even longer than Why You Should Watch Hunter X Hunter, and I guess even more than that it kind of feels like a culmination of everything I’ve learnt over the last three years.

The challenge with this video was trying to create a harsh sense of criticism while also trying to retain a affection and respect for Final Fantasy as a whole, I didn’t just want to tear 15 apart, I wanted to try show how many great ideas it actually had and why it’s sad those never came to fruition, and attempting to do that has been maybe one the most rewarding video making experience I’ve had. It’s hard for me to say at this point how successful I’ve been, I've been on this video for weeks and weeks and it this point it just looks like shapes and sounds to me.

I don’t see a lot of criticism for 15 out there so it’s hard to say how people are going to take this one, at this point all I can say is I gave this one everything I had, and I really hope you enjoy.

I’m going to go lie down for a couple of days, I promise the wait for the next video will be nowhere near as long.

Thanks again. I say it at the end of the vid, but this video could never happen without the support you’ve shown the channel.

Thank you.

RIP FF7 remake :(

Jabroni Kenshin

Really enjoying your content! I'm happy to be able to support this way and I wish you all the best!

After watching this channel since "what makes a villain feel real" video, I finally decided to become a Patrion as I was completely blown away by the quality, style, and feelings expressed in this production. It perfectly summed up my dissatisfaction towards a game that could have been so much more. I especially loved how you pointed out the broken potion system. Keep up the good work and thanks for the autograph at AX 2018.

Hey man I really appreciate that personal shoutout. After working 70 hours this week listening to your 50 minute rant and hearing that shoutout was awesome.

I think the way you break down in anger near the mid-end really showed how much you love and saw the potential behind the game, but ultimately you know they will never be realized because of how deeply rooted the issues are.

Thanks for your work man. It was a pleasure to listen to.

The video was not a mediocre disappointment. Really felt the passion in the musical climax around the 40 minute mark, a little after. Good stuff man

Hiding in Public

I put down the controller after three hours of playtime. Looks like I may have saved myself some time... Agreed with most of eyepatch’s comments although I didn’t get far enough to make any real judgements. Something I noticed through my short experience in the game was a lack of music when roaming around or entering a new environment which I found to be disappointing. It may be more realistic, but I play these games for the fantasy. Did love riding a chocobo with ps4 graphics. Thanks Eyepatch for the hour of reflection and analysis.

You impressed me yet again

While watching the video I was just about to say that what he was suggesting sounded a lot like what happened in FFVII when a few minutes later he said it himself. Hahaha. Nice.

Almost one hour! Damn Super Eyepatch Wolf went all out with this video. The main problem with the game was that it was incomplete at the core. There was something there but it missed the mark. Still good though. Not horrible by any stretch of the imagination. It’s just that it’s not what you expect from a series as grand as Final Fantasy.

Well I can't say I was disappointed with the game, but I look forward to watching your video. Have a good rest.
