Its on what Shonen Jump was like 30 years ago.
This was a really fun video to do, as its a period in Jump that had a lot of influence on modern Shonen, but at the same time feels completely different.
Doing videos on manga specifically is always tricky, because you need to be careful to animate the pages in a way that stays interesting to look at and be careful with your framing and composition, but its also a nice break from just working directly with footage.
There were two manga from this issue of jump that I actually didnt talk about in this video, one was the long running gag manga Kochikame which actually only concluded last year, an the other was called Akaten Kyōshi Nashimoto Kotetsu. Its strange cause Id never heard of it and Id bet that not very many people have, its about a hot blooded teacher who uses unconventional means to keep his students in line, it falls into the same "Manly" manga territory as a most series from that era, but whats strange to me is that its first chapter ran in the previous issue of jump, in other words it started a week before Jojos, but where as Jojos went on to become a world wide phenomenon, Akten, only ran for 15 chapters before being canceled, and its author never wrote another manga. its Strange looking back and thinking how at the time, no one one would really know what different roads the two manga would go down.
Anyway, I like to think about stuff like that sometimes.
I want to thank you for once again for supporting the channel, im not happy about some of the changes Patreons made recently, but thank you so much for sticking with me and allowing me to make videos like this.
