Do Spoilers Ruin Storeys?

A new video just went live on the channel!!

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9g/videos

Hey guys! So this time we’re going to be talking a little about Spoilers, really hope you enjoy! I think spoilers are kind of a touchy subject with a lot of people and I thought it was about time to explore why, and how much do they do affect our enjoyment of a story.

Thanks once again for incredible support, but also for your patience in the release of this video, I know it was a bit longer than usual, and the reason for that is I had to take a couple of days off after suffering some burn out from the Yu Yu Hakusho video, but I’m back in top condition, and the wait for the next one won’t be nearly as long.

We’re crazy close to our first major Patreon goal, and I just want to say thank you, I know I say it every time, but you are the reason Im able to keep making videos like this, and I really truly appreciate it.

Andromeda is really great, it feels like a natural continuation from the Shepard trilogy. In those games you fought to save the universe, but in Andromeda have to actually live in it. That means building homes and taking responsibility, even if your are not originally cut out for it. The story is deliberately on a smaller scale too. Almost every important character in the game came into that position unwillingly and just has to make due somehow, including the player character. Hopefully you´ll enjoy it if you get to check it out.

Yeah, that was the main reason I wanted to do the HXH video, I just felt people were getting turned off it early, and not getting a chance to really see what it was about. Hmmm I may do! I need to check out andromida at some point, I think 2 was one of my favorite games ever

Yeah, I had the exact same experience watching the red wedding, but I agree, I think once I know I want to play something, Id rather not be spoiled on it.

John, excellent video. As someone who's always dived in to spoilers, it was rather interesting to hear a bit of science beyond it. By the by, I noticed my Patreon credit is currently 'D.'. You can go ahead and make that Edward C.A. :)

I agree with your conclusion on spoilers. I watched Game of Thrones knowing everything because I read all the books, but The red Wedding was still shocking and horrific to watch, even more so because I knew it was coming. On the other side, I completely avoided discussions on Mass Effect Andromeda because I wanted to experience everything myself.

That was a fascinating analysis, thank you for putting that much thought into it. Funny enough, thanks to your video I started watching the entirety of Hunter x Hunter and knowing certain things enhanced the experience for me. If you had not talked about the upcoming darkness of the show and it´s brilliant characters, I would have never bothered watching beyond the first episode, since it does not give anything away when it comes to the later themes of it´s story. Glad to support you and I am looking forward to your next videos. ^^ Maybe you could do a video about Mass Effect one day, I think it´s nature as a story mostly based on the player´s choices would be an interesting topic. And it just happens to be my favourite story ever ;)
