Late to the party here... That was pretty darn cool. Explaining the math and geometry in a future video would be killer.

Greg Estep

This video is so good. I think I've watched it half a dozen times.

Adam Willcox

I would love to see a Video of how to calculate this amazing transit! The absolute fascinating fact for me is that you are timing the shutter in the absolute right second. I would be too scared to miss that I would probably run the trigger 3 seconds before :D

Dominik Stubner

Used the same smartphone app to capture totality in Andrews , NC. Our photos are totally or rather totality awesome. The C2 and C3 calcs were dead on in Andrews.

That blew my mind. Totally something out of Star Trek!

That's insane awesome. Good job.

Cannot believe how FAST that thing was moving! Great video Destin.

Jayton Hawkins

That was extra-cool

Destin, this is AWESOME! I brought some very large pieces of foam-core white board with us to the absolute mid-line of the totality plane. We (and many surprised folk who were near us) LOVED witnessing this phenomenon but our attempt to capture it on camera wasn't perfect. Still, they were AMAZING to witness. Without your videos, we would have NEVER known to look for them! Thank you!!

Deviant Ollam

Would love to see that math.

Amazing work guys. My brain was blown just watching the video! Had cloud cover for the eclipse here a few years ago, but it was still a surreal experience. How small was the window to catch the transit?

Great work guys. Shame about your own setup brain overload in the moment but experience & family should always come first! I loved the NASA transit shot coming out of the moon, but you're the only other ones I've seen who got it - amazing :) Especially when you can look at the photos the crew up there were taking of you guys on the ground :P

Invisible Jazz

Awesome!!

Smarter Every Day

Thanks for coming out to Lander guys! I hope it was awesome for you guys!

Smarter Every Day

They were further north in Banner WY. They didn't get to see totality. They made the decision to not experience totality in order to make the transit line up. Very interesting decision making going on there.

Smarter Every Day

Oh, and Matt's setup was amazing! :)

Logan West

We unfortunately got cloud cover about three minutes before totality (so no shadow bands) but could still kind of see. It was great to experience the surroundings though. The kids really enjoyed it and we're all looking forward to 2024.

Logan West

How close do you have to be to catch the transit? I'm an engineer but I can't do parallax calculations in my head! I'm thinking that you had to be within a few meters to catch it! Also, NASA released a high speed shot of the transit. Where was that taken from?

Michael Steeves

You have totally outdone yourself on this one! Congratulations to all of you on a great shot!

Mark Wolff

Drove from Canada because your videos got me psyched about the eclipse. Wore your t-shirt and my brain totally went to mush during totality too! Got some video of shadow bands! Great job, all of you!

That's so cool that you figured out the transit time for the ISS during the eclipse. I'm glad you enjoyed the moment with your family. That's way more important than getting the perfect photo.

Strawberry Puptart

That is super exciting. High quality work. I was bummed when you said it was on reservation land and might not be able to do it. The totality blew my mind too! It was sweet meeting you. -Austin and Wes (without a 't')

Austin Burnham

I couldn't think of any way you could take a total eclipse to the next level (filming shadow bands is impressive enough), but you totally destroyed this. Congrats, and the heck with the total pix, you have the space station!!@!
