Good work

Illuminati Games

Cool

Illuminati Games

Nice.

Kravenar Games

I would presume that was taken with a full-frame shutter camera, rather than rolling shutter. Those do exist, though as I understand it they are uncommon.

I just saw this response to your video on another Channel I follow, and I thought it was a pretty darn funny take on this topic. You might enjoy it, Destin: https://youtu.be/nP1elMR5qjc

Great

Kyan Zero The Real

Yes! That exactly! I'm really curious about how that works with rolling shutter!

PseudsPie

Hey Hy Diep! You mean it like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yr3ngmRuGUc

Dominik Stubner

Destin, I hope you see this question! How does rolling shutter work when both the camera and the spinning object are synced up perfectly -- meaning that the camera shows the spinning object as stationary.

PseudsPie

Great job Destin! Also thanks for watermarking the the video so that the stealing content people can't get away with reposting your stuff as easy as before.

Sina Farhat

Awesome video! I now get why you've found rolling shutter fascinating for so long!! Btw, I thought that was a really cool way to incorporate your watermark into the guitar footage. I don't know if you've had comments saying it was annoying or whatever but I thought it was a smart way to protect your intellectual property while incorporating a little bit of musical nerdery ;)

Ellen Morgan

FANTASTIC video, Destin. I've seen explanations of this before, but yours is by far the best.

Michael Kobb

How can I share the link on FB yet prevent freebooting?

Kristy

Great video as always, thanks!

Make a video explaining why you put the channel name into the video imagery. I also liked how you did the propeller blades. Or did you put decals on the blades We need more discussions about content misappropriation.

Clifford Sherman

Also, the end bits with the chickens made me think of this: https://vimeo.com/7878518

Destin, I just wanted to mention that this reminded me of an older video of yours: #51 The Helicopter Speed Limit. The visual effects created here from the shutter moving relative to a propellor seems strongly related to the lift dissymmetry in helicopters from the rotor moving relative to the air around it. Thanks for always sharing such great stuff with us :)

Wow, I've been trying so hard to explain why having a global shutter is so great in high speed photography.. this video is awesome. Great work Destin.

The wait was worth it. That was a really cool simulation! It never occurred to me that you could do that with high-speed footage. Great work once again. It's a shame that sites GIFify your content so much. Hopefully the watermarks cut down on that.

Austin Burnham

Great video but what is with the new click bait style ?

Destin- This is such a great video and the tech used to see rolling shutter in action is AWESOME. Great job!! May I give some feedback? At the end of the video, you made a statement, "I hope this video has earned your subscription, but if it didn't, no big deal." I get it. You aren't stressing over someone not wanting to subscribe. However, may I humbly suggest that you don't say it's not a big deal to subscribe (because it is), and instead say something like, "...but if it didn't, keep watching and I'll keep working hard to earn it." or something more clever than that. Blessings!!

I remember you said you were going to do this video like two years ago. I'm glad to see you made it!

Austin Burnham

Great vid :)

Invisible Jazz

just saw it in the behind the scenes video

JDUDETV

what would happen if you played back the rolling shutter footage in the high speed. like slo motion rolling shutter?
