so casting traditionally was basically 1 of 2 ways in the past.....you were either street cast (basically bc you were tall and good looking) or you went in how Seulgi did by general auditions which is insanely difficult bc it's open to the public. You basically have to outshine everyone else there. These days its basically the same...."street" casting/DM casting, general open auditions, but sometimes companies have agreements with bigger/well established dance and singing academies to refer their best students. Everyone of course has to still audition and many street/DM cast kids don't make it even to the trainee level but what Seulgi did was kind of nuts especially at SM (the largest kpop company at the time).
