Hey Patrons!
The first of our Noclip Profiles series is live with a 43 minute feature on the one and only John Romero. This project had many new challenges including shooting abroad, shooting solo, and editing a much longer piece than I'm used to. Looking forward to hearing what you think.
Patrons are going to get a wonderful little behind-the-scenes bonus for this one too. We recorded an entire separate video where John took me to his secret stash of games history memorabilia. Expect that patron-exclusive later this week.
Plus Q&A and Hangouts coming later this week too.
Enjoy, and let me know what you think.
Danny
I know I'm a little late to watching this one, but great work, Danny! It was awesome how you made me care about the legacy of a game creator far outside the genre of games I usually play. Also a new desire to visit Galway! haha.

Just got it and that was fun! I think we should definitely have more of these profiles.
Now Romero looks and sounds like a really cool dude. I wish I'd knew he was located there while in Galway last fall.
Btw - great job with background music during the interview. It combines well with the content.

Fantastic content, I loved Ireland when I visited and I'd love for it to grow into a powerful force in the video game industry. Glad to see John Romero has found a home there!

Always been a massive fan of what "id" software created and have fond memories of playing Doom multiplayer using an RS232 cable between two computers at University. Great documentary Danny live this kind of stuff and can't wait to see what you planned in the future. John comes off as a really down to earth and nice bloke.

Do you have to jump through any legal hoops to have other video content public on Youtube? Old interviews, game content, etc? And how is your stress level changing a video on Youtube from Private to Public?

Great work. The first part, talking about Ireland and Galway in particular worked *so* well with the B-roll and the music. Just awesome. And as Romero was relating his history in gaming, I found myself drawn in, although some of it was well-known. That is a credit to you both – Romero for being just an honest, intelligent, cool geek, and to Danny for his talent of drawing out the best conversation making it seem effortless. For me, though, the constant background music was too much (after the first segment), with the talking and game sounds as well. I am glad to see Brandon^ loved it, so it maybe it was just me – you know, once you start noticing something that's meant to be in the background, it can draw more attention than intended. But that's nitpicky. Thanks for another great episode!

First off, my deepest thanks to both of you Misters O'Dwyer and Romero for making this happen. This was so insightful and I loved every minute of it. Second, Galway looks absolutely stunning. I would love to vacation there one day. Third, I LOVED the implementation of the background music. Absolutely beautiful in the beginning and highly impactful during the discussion on DOOM. Fourth, personally speaking, I'm really happy Spear of Destiny got a little bit of time as I feel that game isn't discussed much when talking about Wolfenstein the grand picture. For example, I have DOOM and DOOM II as XBLA games in addition to Wolfenstein 3D, but not SoD, and I really wish Bethesda would put it on console as a download. I would love to go through that game again. Finally, sorry for the lengthy post. Great job, looking forward to project three and thanks again!

Amazing job.....Amazing.... I really liked the different approach of the interview theme...I'm always interested in knowing how it is to work on this industry, specially back in the days at the very beginning of it.....Listening to John talking about his experience with founding the company, trying to make games at the beginning at school.....it's priceless and something that the gaming media really needed....Thank you for that.
