Something curious: I was reading something on wolves the other day and it indicated that the idea of Alpha wolves is a myth. Supposedly, most wolf packs consist of family members and the children tend to follow the parents. This created the impression that wolves were running in a hierarchical way when it was really about family dynamics. I don't know if that bit of information has been since disproven or questioned by other research.
