You've been on the scene for awhile now, so I think you know the idea behind immortal songs - i.e. various Korean artists paying tribute to one of their icons. There's a Korean song that we like to call "The Salmon Song". It's a pretty big deal in Korea - is there an equivalent in the U.S.? A song that everybody from age 5 to age 80 knows? I thought about this the first time I heard 거꾸로 강을 거슬러 오르는 저 힘찬 연어들처럼 (roughly translates to "Like the strong salmon that swim against the river") - and I think it would be something like "Imagine" by John Lennon. The original song is sung by Kang San Eh in 1998 if you're curious and want to check it out. Seo Moon Tak did a cover on Immortal Songs that did it justice, with traditional Korean instruments and everything. Seriously brought tears to my eyes. There's something about her voice that breaks you down, I think. She is an awe to watch. And the lyrics to the song are absolutely worth a look - it's a song of inspiration and has brought hope to many Koreans going through a tough time. 2023-07-04 15:59:15 +0000 UTCI KNEW YOU LIKED IT! I loved the mix of their voices and hope they will make more like this. Seo Moon Taek is a rock artist so she has a good following in her own right. Its just different from idols. Also she debuted in the 90s and went to Berklee School of Music in Boston and has done a bunch of other things. I will send you some of her music that I think you might like.
