I'm really surprised people are allowed to water during a drought. In ozits a complete hosepipe ban during droughts (no cars, lawns etc) and people are told to limit showers to 2 minutes max (most houses have showers fitted with water regulators to limit waste)

2025-03-22 09:33:04 +0000 UTCFantastic conversation about West Texas/Big Bend! Sanderson - known for No Country AND the tornado that hit them last year. As always, glad to hear the description of drought. I recommended that the worst category of drought be expanded for all of Brewster County and that was accepted for the latest drought monitor release this week. West Texas is in the midst of a 3-4 year drought at this point. Have to just hope for a big change in the pattern over the course of the year. It bugs me to no end how many homes/businesses/whatever water their grass out here when it's 110F with a 40F dewpoint. The water is evaporating before it hits the damn ground.
