Beautiful Old Growth Peyote

In Texas we find one of the few remaining old growth specimens of this species, Lophophora williamsii, which is becoming increasingly endangered due mostly to habitat destruction and the inability of human beings to appreciate the plant community and habitat that it comes from, as well as the other plant species that grow with it. Though this plant is considered sacred to some, the habitat is sadly consider sacred to very few, and every plant in this habitat needs protection, reverence and respect.

I think 100 years ago it was assumed to have had some sort of remedial properties for the disease but I don't think any of those panned out lol

What's in a name? Was/Is Euphorbia antisyphilitica used to treat syphilis? If not, how the heck did it get that name?

Hibiscus in a desert😲 Moss in a desert😲 Joey is right about the natives plants on some countries of Europe, cutting trees for wood, destroying habitat to put farming, Eucalyptos that are native to Australia to cut and product paper, and now mines of Lítio😩...the hope now is that more people be aware of the importance of natives and respect habitat...never loose hope
