Some Course Materials/Plant Systematics
Added 2024-09-09 14:39:44 +0000 UTCI'm attaching a link to a folder with a bunch of reading materials including Plant Systematics by my friend Michael Simpson, which is a textbook that you will reference for the next decade of your life and which I've been hyping for about 8 years now. It goes through plant identification and synapomorphies of various groups starting from the bottom of the EMBRYOPHYTE (land plant) family tree starting with bryophytes, up through lycophytes, up through ferns to conifer, angiosperms, etc.
IT's got an entire chapter on plant identification (chapter 9 I think) and terminology, as well as a chapter on MOlecular Analysis and DNA. Mike is a great guy and a very good human being and still tolerates my cell phone calls at 9 in the morning.
Also in that folder is Raven's BIology of Plants and The ANgiosperm Phylogeny Poster. Please check it out.
