The Next Historical Map

I started my patreon 5 years ago this month and it felt like I should do something special, so I'm holding a vote for all patrons on the next historical map you'd like to see. I think all of these places would make incredible maps and I hope to draw them all at some point, but which one would you like to see now?

  1. Château de Brézé - A French castle with an elaborate network of caves and tunnels dug around and underneath it.
  2. Stack Rock Fort - A British sea fort off the coast of Wales.
  3. Church of St. George, Lalibela - A very unique church carved into the bedrock in Ethiopia.
  4. Castel Sant'Angelo - Hadrian's Tomb, which later became the pope's castle.

Comments

I've been there and, let me tell you, that is EXACTLY the kind of place vampires would live.

There was just a Kickstarter for a game called Eat the Reich, and it involves France and WWII and vampires. The chateau would be ideal. Let's to Brézé!

Distinctiveness is one of the main things I look for when I'm drawing someplace historical. I've always been drawn to places that are unusual in some way or another.

Milby's Maps

I've drawn quite a few places in France, so if that's something you're interested in, I've made maps of Mont-St-Michel, the Chateau de Chenonceau and the city of Laon as well. They've built some great stuff over the years.

I agree, these are all great! I chose the Church because it is so distinctive - but I'm sure the others would be great too.

Jason

Great locations. I agree with Silas, choosing is difficult.

Diego Rossi

So many good ideas! I'm preparing to run a game in a Toussaint-style Fantasy French kingdom, so having a French castle AND a cave dungeon crawl all in one package would be clutch!

Edward Warren

All such great ideas that I had to stop myself from voting for all of them and nullifying my own vote.
