Open Up won because Guanlin messed up one part in Never. That was why he was so down during the announcement. It wasn't shown during the performance but there was a fancam where it was shown. I think you'd also see it in his individual fancam. As you can see even Woojin's score didn't reach a hundred. I couldn't remember which part Guanlin had a mistake on but it was kinda obvious for the live audience. Which is why his ranking dropped come the next ranking evals. When I watched this live when it was airing, Daniel was indeed insane which was why Open Up was my 1st followed closely by Never. His popularity shoot up during this stage.

well, audiences already have their bias, so i don't expect they would vote to other trainee no matter how he performed on stage or be shown on screen. there's also strategic vote. I always remind that this is basically popularity ranking, not talent ranking judged by professional members in industry. performance and practice scenes are edited to show what producers want, exaggerate it. that's what I have realized watching Produce series so far. let me know what you think about it.

Park Woojin was actually in pain and had fever during the Never stage, which was why the instructors cheered him on. he went to the hospital after the performance and got diagnosed with shingles

My #1 then and now is Open Up. The Open Up fancam of Kang Daniel is insane. That thigh sweep of his swept South Korea. 😅

I was so excited for you to watch these concept stages! Never is one of my all time favourites from produce concept songs, you’ll probably get more on this in an essay but never was actually the most popular song (if I remember right it charted) the song is just too good. Also park woojin was really sick during this section of produce, so it amazes me he was able to perform so well. I won’t say much on open up right now, I’ll save my notes so to avoid spoilers. I think my overall rank performance and song is I know you know 5th, show time 4th, open up 3rd, oh little girl 2nd and never 1st.
