Come and argue which (over)singer-songwriter had the better overplayed song of '23 and/or '24, Benson Boone's "Beautiful Things" or Teddy Swims's "Lose Control"!

2025-12-29 03:24:44 +0000 UTCWent with Teddy Swims cause I prefer Lose Control, but I honestly don't hate Beautiful Things like a lot of people, I think the only real issue with the song is the chorus being a little much. However, I think the best single I've heard from Benson is "Mr. Electric Blue", a kinda weird more dancey rock song that I think is pretty fun and odd in a good way. Anyway, my real reason for commenting is my utter confusion and disbelief that you didn't cover the main reason I voted for Blue Christmas instead of Christmas (Baby Please Come Home); the cover in "The Year Without A Santa Claus" played over a montage of sad pictures drawn by the sad children singing it. Huge childhood Christmas special for me, and an absolute stand out moment compared to the fun original songs featured in the special. Very well done imo, and the main thing I think of when I think of that song, even over Elvis. Merry Christmas Todd and Happy Hanukkah Alina! 🩷🎄🕎
