NEW POLL: "Anarchy in the UK" vs. "London Calling"

England's got a new king! And after watching all that pomp and circumstance, I think it's time that we remind ourselves that Britain is bullshit and we should tear it all down. So which punks rock the River Thames harder? Is it the Sex Pistols bringing "Anarchy in the UK" or The Clash's "London Calling"?

Todd, Alina... ARLISS. Huh? ARLISS! You kids like that ARLISS?!

London Calling is definitely not the first post punk album, Marquee Moon's got a couple of years on it nad may not be the first either. If we're just talking about brits, Y came out earlier in 1979.

I don’t think Lydon wore a swastika himself or at any rate stopped doing so because he was more influenced by Bernie Rhodes (himself Jewish) who thought the punks didn’t understand how offensive it was. Sid did of course. Lydon’s view then was https://www.azquotes.com/quote/1429908

As a British person who just had to endure the celebration of a billionaire elitist putting on a shiny hat on the public dime: my vote goes with The Sex Pistols.

As much as I hate to say it seeing as John Lydon is such a massive arsehole: I just like Anarchy in the UK more. I like London Calling of course but comparing the two makes it sound a little stiff next to the loud, abrasiveness of Anarchy in the UK and that just appeals to me more, personally.

One song has the most recognizable bassline in punk. The other song's bassline was played by someone whose guitar wasn't plugged in. "London Calling" to the bottom tones, why'd Sid Vicious think he could go it alone?

Since I believe Anarchy In The UK is more likely to get the royal family audibly gasp and say, “My word,” under their breath, that’s where my vote goes.
