Hey all,

I wanted to let everyone know where we are of our progress as well as some changes that we are having to make in the way that billing will be working in the future [for iOS users].

iOS Billing

First up, Apple is requiring Patreon to use their iOS payment system, which means Apple will charge a 30% fee on all sales. Because of this, any subscriptions made on iOS will cost 30% more than those made on Android or the web. We aren’t pocketing this additional amount - it all goes to that hungry hungry hippo called Apple. This change will take effect right away.

I’d advise avoiding subscribing through iOS’ system, finding alternative ways to subscribe; I think there is usually a conversation about how to do so popping up about this in our Discord server.

Progress Update

We are planning to begin testing our code structure populated with text, images and music within the next two weeks, to test for any problems that may occur. The render count keeps climbing towards that magical number of that ever-elusive total of ‘finished’. The writing proceeds as well, and that just keeps getting more interesting, as the characters sometimes have choices I did not anticipate. A new scene or two just popped into being which will likely have lasting effects. More on that next week - and yeah, I will be posting each week from now on, as we get closer and closer to release.
